About Marblemount

Marblemount is located on Highway 20, about halfway between Concrete and Newhalem. This is an extremely small town with a population of just over 200 people. The town is surrounded by tremendous scenery, thick forestation, and is filled with a feeling of relaxation. It sits at the western entrance to the North Cascades National Park and as such is the perfect place either to stop at before entering or to use as a headquarters for a trip to the area. Marblemount is small but more than capable of being an important part of the Cascade Loop.

Things To Do In Marblemount

Marblemount has a couple of eating establishments that are highly thought of by locals and regular travelers. There are also some lodging options there too that include a bed and breakfast, an RV park, simple motels, and vacation rentals. When you visit Marblemount, you’ll also have access to the water of the Skagit River in several places, both by foot as well as a boat launch. Driving around and through Marblemount can be a fun activity too because you’ll see all sorts of aspects of small town, rural, mountain life.

Marblemount – The Surrounding Area

Marblemount is situated in a beautiful part of the state and features tons of things to do and see all around it. Further east will take you to Newhalem and both Rainy and Washington passes as you cross over the Cascade Mountains. Along the way, there are several opportunities to go camping, hiking, or just general sightseeing. To the west of Marblemount is Rockport, Concrete, and the rest of the Skagit Valley. There you’ll find more eating out options, some interesting chances to go shopping at some unique stores, and of course a great time exploring the local scenery and history too. Attractions in the area include the North Cascades Visitor Center, a local winery, a working organic farm to explore, Diablo Lake Boat Tours, Ross Lake, Diablo Lake, Gorge Lake, and several high mountain dams in the region. You really cannot go wrong with a visit to Marblemount when traveling on the Cascade Loop.
