North Cascades

About the North Cascades

When the Cascade Loop swings through its North Cascades stretch, its reached the point that most people focus on. There are a number of reasons for this, but one is that this is the most remote stretch, the part that the fewest people get to see. When you drive through the North Cascades, you’ll be treated to high mountain peaks, a wealth of hiking trails, some of the most impressive waterfalls in the country, easy opportunities to get that feeling that you’ve really gotten away from it all, and a nice selection of historical sites to visit as well. The communities in the high mountain area of the North Cascades are extremely small. Some of them offer very little in terms of services and amenities. All of them though offer a feeling of remoteness and seclusion. Visiting the North Cascades is like nothing else in Washington State. When you go there as part of the Cascade Loop, be sure to bring your camera.
