About Skykomish

The town of Skykomish is the first community you will come to when crossing west over the Cascade Mountains on US 2 at Stevens Pass. This is an old railroad town that was very important in the early days of rail travel across the mountains. It was just less than a hundred years ago that the population of Skykomish was several thousand. Today, this little mountain town has just a couple of hundred yearround residents and caters mostly to those seeking outdoor recreation in the local mountains. Skykomish is a fun place to visit and soak in the history and atmosphere.
